Books - 5 to 7

Have you come across 'Who moved my cheese' by Dr. Spencer Johnson: one of the talked about books of recent times. It explains that one should anticipate and adapt to changes; it is told through four imaginary characters : two mice sniff and scurry, and two people Hem and Haw. Worth reading.

If you were thinking about a gift to some one studying in school (class 9 to 12) and is interested in Science (or if you are one of them), then I would recommend a book titled 'What Einstein told his Barber' by Robert L. Wolke. I wish I had read it when I was in School. It clearly explains many day-to-day happenings. Another similar good book is 'Riddles In Your Teacup' by Partha Ghosh and Dipankar Home (Rupa & co); it is not as expensive as the earlier one but is cheaper and equally good. You will enjoy them - even if you are not a student - if you are curious.
